Counselor SEO Case Study: How a Teen & Family Counseling Practice Earned 77,900+ Google Impressions in Four Months with Gadgetlesstech

Counseling session in a calm office

This counselor SEO case study follows a teen and family counseling practice in Northern California, led by a clinician who has worked with teens and families for decades. Her reputation was built on referrals, school lectures, and public speaking. Gadgetlesstech turned that reputation into a website that does the same work online: one hub for every counseling service, and a mental health blog written in her voice. From January through April 2026, the site appeared in Google search results nearly 78,000 times, and daily impressions climbed 60% from January to April.

The Challenge

  • A practice known mostly through word of mouth, lectures, and media appearances
  • Services spanning teen, family, marriage, and divorce counseling plus business coaching, with no clear structure tying them together
  • A personal brand that needed to connect clearly to the clinician behind it and her local area

Jan–Apr 2026 Results

  • 329 clicks from Google search
  • Average position improved from 14.6 in January to 11.5 in April
  • Referring domains grew from 96 to 104
Teen talking with a counselor

The client is a counseling practice in Northern California led by a single clinician who works with teens and the people around them, offering teen, family, marriage, divorce, and pre-divorce counseling, along with coaching for clinicians and teachers. Clients and parents describe her as unusually good at reaching teens who don’t want to talk.

The Gadgetlesstech Approach

One Hub for Every Counseling Service

Families rarely search for “counseling” in general. A parent searches for teen counseling, a couple for marriage counseling, someone facing a separation for divorce counseling. We organized the site around those searches, with a local counseling services hub and a focused page for each service beneath it.

Every service page links up to the hub and across to related services, so a parent who arrives for teen counseling can also find family counseling without starting over.

A Blog Written in the Clinician’s Voice

People choose a counselor they feel they already know. The mental health blog is published under her own name and covers the questions her clients bring in, from emotional versus logical decisions to how pre-divorce counseling affects children.

The articles go deep on the issues parents and clinicians search for, like attachment issues in teens, a father figure’s role in emotional development, and body image. That depth is what carries the site: daily impressions rose from about 405 in January to about 646 in April. A dedicated media page collects her lectures and podcast appearances.

Earning Links That Build Trust

For a health practice, who links to you matters. We built the practice’s link profile around its real-world reputation: media appearances, speaking engagements, and professional profiles that point back to the site.

Between January 31 and April 30, 2026, backlinks grew from 202 to 220 and referring domains from 96 to 104.
